I believe most of you are driving your own car to work. If you are using a car with smaller engine capacity such as Kancil, Kelisa or MyVi then obviously it will make a lot of difference in fuel consumption when compared to a normal sedan car. With the 40% increase of fuel price last month it would make a lot of sense to use a car wtih smaller engine capacity.

If your fuel cost per month is around RM200 before then you will be paying extra RM80 per month now, unless your salary is more than RM10k per month then you’ll not feel the “pinch” in your pocket.

I prefer to use motorbike and I’ve been riding motorbike to work for the last 24 years. WIth the recent fuel price hike I did feel the ‘pinch’ in my pocket but not as much as you who drive to work.

Anyway you can do nothing to prevent the fuel price from increasing but one thing for sure is you can do something to save your fuel consumption cost. Recently I read from Lowyat Forum that if you maintain your car speed below 80km/hr then you may make some saving in fuel consumption. This is just logic, less speeding means less number of combustion (per second) in the engine and hence less fuel consumption. But if you have to travel more than 50km to office then cruising at 80km/hr or less will not make sense either.

From my personal observation since the fuel price hike I saw less number of cars in the queue along the way from Bandar Tasik Puteri to Rawang TOL. Are they turning to motorbike or practising car pooling? Less number of cars on the road also mean that you can travel faster – speeding of course! However this is good for bikers like me since we don’t have to use the ‘wrong-lane’… you know what I mean don’t you… ha ha ha.

How about using NGV for your car. It will cost you around RM3.5k to RM4.5k to install the NGV system (for a normal sedan car) but in the long run it will be more cost saving. It will cost you around RM12 to get a full tank of NGV which enables you to travel up to 160km.

Recently a friend of my wife told her that her husband had already installed NGV system into their Harrier SUV which cost them around RM6k+ (a big NGV cylinder I guess). She said a full tank of NGV cost them around RM50 but they can travel more than 300km before a refill is needed.

Wow, this is really a big saving guys – don’t you want to change to NGV?

Hey, motorbike can change to NGV or not because I also want to use NGV on my motorbike. Can or cannot?

It happened almost every now and then, one after another. Fatal accidents involving trucks, buses and lorries are worsening. Does Malaysian motorist behave like monsters gone berserk when they are on the wheels?

If you can recall an accident that happened two years ago at Cheras where a lorry rammed into a group of bikers who were taking shelter from the rain under a flyover. That accident claimed 5 innocent lifes. Why in the first place did the lorry driver sped on a slippery road in the rain? May be ‘tak ada otak’ punya orang!

Last year somewhere in August an express bus plunged into a ravine near Bukit Gantang Perak and caused 20 deaths. Two days ago there was another accident near IOI Puchong that claimed one innocent driver’s life. The Puchong road near IOI is always congested and you cannot speed driving along this stretch. I just wonder how this selfish lorry driver had the gut to beat the red light. Can you imagine how fast this lorry was speeding to beat the traffic light?

If you read in the newspaper, it said that the lorry driver managed to beat the traffic light but lose control and rammed into a queue of motorists. To me the lorry driver is really just another ‘tak ada otak‘ fellow and just bloody selfish – a typical third world mentality and attitude.

Yesterday another lorry plunged into a row of terrace houses at Johor Bahru and caused damages to cars parked infront of the houses. I just cannot stomach it anymore to such driving attitude shown by these selfish drivers. And the bad news is these selfish drivers are now joined by the pickup trucks a.k.a 4WD owners who will always speed driving even in single lane roads.

These 4WD drivers are another type of ‘monster’ that are let loose from hell. They does not have even the slightest courtesy and respect towards other motorists. They think that by driving a big 4WD vehicle they hold the license to speed and act as if the roads belong to themselves.

If you drive a Kancil, Kelisa or any other small cars just watch your back. You can be very careful and alert when you’re driving but you would’t know if some ‘mad’ and ‘tak ada otak’ bus, lorry or 4WD drivers will ram you from behind.

Any experience with these mad and selfish drivers? Anyway just watch your back and take care.
