Always give cheap talks but no action. These are how our Ministers and Head of the relevant authorities act in tackling the dire situation faced by the public. How long dengue has been put in the high alert epidemic in our country. Since the last 5 years the statistic has been in constant high.
The statistic for dengue cases per 100,000 population from 1999 to 2006 (source: MoH website. Shit, even the statistic is not updated. Are they hiding something from the public?).
| Year | Dengue Fever |
| 1999 | 41.4 |
| 2000 | 30.2 |
| 2001 | 64.32 |
| 2002 | 63.17 |
| 2003 | 58.93 |
| 2004 | 50.92 |
| 2005 | 60.71 |
| 2006 | 64.37 |
What is alarming is that the number of cases has doubled in 2008 with over 45,000 cases (or 166.67 per 100,000 population). And more gruesome news as new statistics were revealed by the MoH yesterday. We are not even in the 4th week of January 2009 and yet the number of cases reported on 23 January for the first three weeks has already hit 4,221 cases with 12 deaths as reported by Bernama.
The Health Minister has changed several times from Dr Chua Jui Meng to Dr Chua Soi Lek and latest to Datuk Liow Tiong Lai… but all talk shit only and no action!
We want a Minister with high integrity and leadership qualities who can lead the MoH to take immediate and drastic actions to combat this epidemic.
